尼龍為韌性角狀半透明或乳白色結(jié)晶性樹脂，作為工程塑料的尼龍分子量一般為1.5-3萬(wàn)尼龍具有很高的機(jī)械強(qiáng)度，軟化點(diǎn)高，耐熱，磨擦系數(shù)低，耐磨損，自潤(rùn)滑性，吸震性和消音性，耐油，耐弱酸，耐堿和一般溶劑，電絕緣性好，有自熄性，無(wú)毒，無(wú)臭，耐候性好，染色性差。缺點(diǎn)是吸水性大，影響尺寸穩(wěn)定性和電性能，纖維增強(qiáng)可降低樹脂吸水率，使其能在高溫、高濕下工作。尼龍與玻璃纖維親合性十分良好。尼龍中尼龍66的硬度、剛性最高，但韌性最差。各種尼龍按韌性大小排序?yàn)椋?PA66＜PA66/6＜PA6＜PA610＜PA11＜PA12。尼龍的燃燒性為UL94v-2級(jí)，氧指數(shù)為24-28，尼龍的分解溫度＞299℃，在449~499℃時(shí)會(huì)發(fā)生自燃。尼龍的熔體流動(dòng)性好，故制品壁厚可小到1mm。

2.工業(yè)零件：椅座、自行車輪框、溜冰鞋座、紡織梭、踏板、滑輪、電動(dòng)工具、齒輪、軸承、座墊、凸輪。紡織：紡織梭拉煉、人造纖維。建筑：戶車、尼龍皮（農(nóng)業(yè)用）。
